  • HP: 32.5 million (Heroic) / 8.4 million (Normal)
  • Enrage: 9 minutes
  • Melee Damage: 25k+ (Heroic)
  • There are 4 (Normal) / 8 (Heroic) NPCs trapped in blocks of ice around his room.  Destroying the blocks of ice will free the NPC and they'll help you by doing various things.  Each Ice Block has 32,000 (Normal) / 40,000 (Heroic) hit points.  At the moment these don't really seem worth freeing as you'll just have to break their ice blocks each Flash Freeze in a lot of cases.
    • Druid NPC: Casts Starlight - Envelops a location in starlight for 1 min, increasing attack and casting speed of friendly units within it.
    • Shaman NPC: Casts Storm Power - Charges a nearby friendly target with lightning, increasing critical strike damage by 135% for 30 sec.
    • Mage NPC: Drops the Toasty Fire - Warms nearby friendly creatures, preventing the effects of Freeze and Biting Cold, and increasing Spirit by 4.  In addition, your Spells and Ranged attacks have a chance to singe enemies.  Toasty fire can be extinguished by falling ice or Flash Freeze.
      • Singed - Singes the enemy, inflicting 1500 Fire damage and increasing damage taken from magical spells and effects by 1% for 25 sec. Stacks up to 30 times.
    • Priest NPC: This one will help dispel Freeze, but doesn't really do anything else.
    • The Toasty Fire prevents the effects of Biting Cold and Flash Freeze, but will be removed on Flash Freeze cast as well as if it's hit by an Ice Shard.  This effect is limited to a certain number of raid members.
    • Breaking these NPCs out of the blocks before you engage Hodir will remove them from the encounter.  Don't do it!
  • Abilities
    • Biting Cold - Stacks over time, dealing additional damage.  Moving will reset its stack.
    • Freeze - Inflicts 5550 to 6450 Frost damage to nearby enemies, immobilizing them for up to 10 sec.  10 yard radius; dispel this immediately.
    • Flash Freeze - He will emote and then cast Flash Freeze, freezing everyone in ice blocks.  If anyone is hit by it, kill their ice block immediately (32,000hp N / 40,000hp H).  If you're hit by Flash Freeze again while you're still an ice block, you're instantly killed.
    • Icicle - He casts Icicle which creates Ice Shards every 1.7 seconds.  This is especially dangerous for anyone that gets hit by Flash Freeze.  This also spawns Snowdrift on the ground where the Ice Shard hits. You can avoid Flash Freeze by standing on the Snowdrifts.
    • Frozen Blows - Physical damage reduced by 70%, but attacks deal 40000 additional Frost damage.  In addition, all enemies suffer 4000 3000 Frost damage every 2 1 sec. for 20 sec.  This is cast randomly. (Normal: 31062)
  • Hard Mode
    • Defeat Hodir before he can shatter the rare cache.  The rare cache is shattered 2 minutes into the fight.
